>I have had no luck trying to remove the default menu bar from my app. When I go to options, the only choice for menu is default. I don't want any at all. Is there a way to start an app with no menus or toolbars at all?

Create a new menu (customize option under View-Toolbars), give it any name and set Properties to type Menubar, then under the Startup options select the name of this empty menubar. Make sure when you create it that you un-check this option from the list so it's hidden.
