>When I read my Outlook mail, sometimes, I have GIF attachments. By default, when clicking on it, it starts the viewer. However, I would like to have the ability to save it directly from Outlook. What happens is that I can't do it so I have to rely on the viewer to save it and sometimes it changes the original format of the file. How can I save it directly from Outlook and bypass the viewer?

Are you using OL2000?

Right-click on the attachment at the bottom of the message and select "Save As..".

Also go to Options and under security tab set attachment security to high. It should then ask you if you want to open it or save it when you double-click on attachments.
