In NT/2K, the logged in user must have permissions to alter the registry. That's what I would try first. Log in with "Administrator" privileges, and see if the registry entries are updated.

Also, some of the registry "keys" (hives, nodes, whatever) differ between Windows versions. If the developer created his own custom registry entries, then no problem here. But if he wrote to "system" entries, those nodes don't have the same names in all Windows versions.

You can trace through code in the Trace window of the Debugger to see *exactly* what line of code is failing. Post here if you need help with that.
