Hello,

I have two identical computers (both hardware as software). They run Win98 SE. I Installed an USB to parallel cable on both of them.
On PC1 no problem. As soon as the cable was put in the USB port the cable was detected and I installed the necessary drivers from a floppy that was delivered with the cable. When I look at the printers detail options, I find the cable and I can print to the printer using the USB port. When I look at the device list, I also find the cable with the USB sign before it.
On PC2 at the beginning no problem. Cable is detected and installed correctly but when I look at the printers detail options, I can't redirect my printer to the USB port because it is not in the list of printerports. When I look in the device list I find the cable but the USB sign is replaced by a little gray square. How is this possible ?

Thank's for any reaction.

Hans.
