I thought that the default was 'Shared' for this use of 'Use'. Apparently not in MM. It opened the table exclusive. And since each user needed the info from this table in only certain situations, it did not always give us the 'File Access Denied' situation.

I'm glad you found the problem. Things like that are hard to track down and can drive you bonkers.
