Gotta say I liked it. In fact, I enjoyed it much more than the TNG or Voyager pilots. I was so dissapointed in the TNG pilot that I decided to record over it - a decision I later regretted. I kept watching it and became a big fan. I grew to like Voyager, too.

I liked Scott B. as Captain Archer. I assume he will settle into the role and improve, just as the other casts have done in the last four series. But I like him now better than Picard or Janeway in their first episodes.

I'm looking forward to them exploring how the "Star Fleet protocols" you mentioned came to be.

I _was_ disappointed in the swearing and the sexy "disinfectant lotion" scene. Star Trek is a family affair for us and I saw no need for either the bad language or hands lingering over her stomach, etc. Besides, disinfecting like that makes no sense. They would use aerosols or a shower, not lather each other with lotion. I know the original series had sexy outfits (for the sixties) but... And one of my daughters was upset about seeing Captain Archer in his briefs. ("Why would they show him in his underwear?" she asked.) I didn't notice it, but she didn't like it.

Other than those things, my family gave it a "Thumbs up" and we're looking forward to next Wednesday.
David.
