OK let's check step by step.
Just after 'select...into cursor..' line add a browse
You can see all fields you need and data, right ? If so next in report check if your field expression is aliased. If so remove aliases (ie: fname should read just fname, not sometable.fname). If there are no aliased expression then check 'print when' expression.
IMHO one of them should catch the reason (having same back-foreground for font is a small possibility, or another object in front).
