Problems with Foxpro Wizard
I was just wondering, is it just me or are their other people having a problems with the foxpro setup wizard. I ran this wizard and when trying to add an activex component it came up with the usual percentage box:
"Searching registry for available classes... 0-100%".
When this reached 100% the following error was displayed:
"Error #202 in getacivex (0): Invalid path or filename"
... does this mean that some of the activex components on my machine have not been registered properly???
Anyway, I clicked OK and the activex list appeared anyway, so I selected the component I wanted to add. But when I clicked on close the whole setup program closed down on me...
Aftter several attempts I ran the setup program again and ignored the activex components section. When I got as far as the list of items the wizard was adding to the setup util, I checked the activex box beside the main executable. The wizard the started building the setup program, but got as far as:
"Preparing to generate STF file..."
And the following error was displayed:
"Error #202 in doit (0): Invalid path or filename"
Does this refer to the same problem???
Now here is the interesting bit. After a few failed attempts, I resorted to asking a fellow programmer within my company if he had any ideas. So I went to demo the problem to him... this time the whole setup utility ran without fail, letting me add all my activex components and all with no errors! I then proceeded to test my setup utility on a test machine... but at 99% it failed with the error
"program.exe Failed to register itself in the system registry"
Where program.exe is the name of my application...
I have tried various search engines, foxpro websites, msdn, but I can't seem to find any other problems like this out there... Any comments?
