I don't think you are gonna see a difference. Accessing VFP files with the ODBC driver doesn't magically make a 2 tier (client/server) solution like is being implied in this thread.

I'm not sure what you mean here. It sounds to me like you are describing SQL Server. Or, if you are talking about a COM server... yes, that is one solution to create client/server VFP without using SQL Server.
