If you are looking for the progress bar to indicate the progress of the querying of records from the back end you really can not do this. The best you can do, I believe, is SET NOTIFY ON so you get the Executing Remote SQL, Press ESC to Cancel wait window.

If you were doing an ASYNCHRONOUS transfer, you could give the number of bytes or KB transferred. To do a transfer percent, you would have to know the total to be transferred which is not known.
