I don't see it that way at all. If my text fits in a Small Fonts display then the same should hold for a Large Fonts display.
Hopefully XP takes not only the fonts themselves into consideration, but also the whole image to be shown.
In fact I believe that pre-XP does this already BUT does it incorrectly.

And, contrary to what some say about this problem, it is absolutely NOT a question of scalable/non-scalable fonts. This happens when all of the fonts used are scalable (TT).
