In order to create pdf docs direct from VFP reports, you do need to set them up as printer drivers. (from adobe or others) however, if you are married to the VFP's report writer, and can handle wrirting reports the old fashiond way, with either ? or set textmerge, Then text2pdf might do the trick for you.
The trouble is the VFP report writer does do a good job of writing report to printers . or printer files. you do need to conver these files to pdf's and setting up a print driver,to handle the conversation is the normal way.

On the other hand. http://www.fytek.com/
this company has a utility which takes different forms of text / html and you can use it as an active x control inside VFP and conver the text to pdf. I use it and it works for me. (no printer driver necessary)

There are other options, for this type of utility at http://www.pdflib.com/

or you might check www.pdfzone.com

Someone else might be able to confirm this, but I have read somwhere that Crystle Reports has now a save as pdf option.... and according to last months advisor so does R and R report writer..

Hope this gets you started.

>I need to add an option to my report previewer to output reports in a PDF format. I have seen threads in the past referring to products from Amyuni and Adobe. I need comments pro and con about these two options and any other possibilities. I would like to use an ActiveX component, NOT a printer driver that would need to be installed on each end user machine.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
