>In refering to Italian composers he said something to the effect of "One would think they s*** marbles", implying that they were over rated, and that Germans (especially himself) could compose as well as the Italians.
On a sidenote, funny how the same expression means different things across languages. "To s*** marbles" existed in Serbian slang, and the meaning of "he s***s marbles" was "he's just talking, probably lying, just to gain position/altitude/status/importance". The general notion of pretense is still there, but actually twisted around.
