I'm almost to ashamed to tell you, but I have to tell you that i found the solution for the last problem (the datatype mismatch). As I'm new in foxpro i didn't realize on wich field I was putting the newid() function. So I see now that if i didn't put it on the wrong field i even put it on both fields in the table3.dbf. Stupid! I thank you very much for your help. Without it I don't think I would have come to this conclusion (within the next month or so)
I'm feeling lucky so maybe I will try Craig Berntson autoincrementing class.
