Seems like you have an Invoice or something similar. How do you link the grid with the text boxes? One way is to use a view.

Another question is that of user interface. I have something similar in use that uses a form (small) to enter an Invoice number and it has a grid. You can scroll the grid or enter the Invoice number to do a lookup. You click O.K. or double click on the desired grid row and the main form comes up with header and detail (grid) data. It is very fast and just one approach. It uses views and works fine.
