Well, how about an embedded controller running in machine language?
I checked, my NT 4.0 server is running on 64MB. I'm happy with 256MB on my Win2000 Pro desktop and Win 98 laptop.
Personally, I think it would be an great if Microsoft would offer something called XP-Basic would provide *just* the OS, and network connectivity. Maybe something that would really run in 64MB. Charge $79.00 for it.
Think of the advertising possibilities:
"XP-Basic. A computer operating system, not a way of life."
