>Hi all - I know this has been covered before... am I right in thinking that in a multi user environment it is better to create apps were there are multiple .exe's on the local PCs looking at the same data on the server?

Hey Chris
ok first off yes it is better for speed to have the exe localy, but for updating exe's it's better to have it on the server

Me I put the exe localy on the users pc, speed is better then tech easy

and I don't understand your second question
"does the client installer write something to the registry that you read from Foxpro when a user starts the app or what?"

do you mean path to the datasource????
if so I store that data in a dbf on the local pc
