Hi!
It is very rare situation when variabe is used in the view. Usually view is created with parameters, that means each variable is prefixed by "?" and variables with the same names and values for view parameters require to be prepared each time before view opening or requery() command running.
HTH.
>I'm using ViewEdit and getting an error when modifying a view created in the View Designer. The error is "Error in SQL: Error number 1806 SQL: Column "SSNSRCH" is not found." SSNSRCH is a public variable used in the filter portion of the View Designer. Does anyone know if this app does not support the use of variables in the SQL? If it's done under the "Build field list" button then I would additionally like to know under what condition the button becomes enabled, as it is not available to me. Thanks!

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
