One point I strongly suggest you consider is where you will have your website hosted. If you have your own web server than it's not an issue. But if not, then I suggest you shop around. For example, hostpro.com will host web site that uses pure ASP and MS Access DB for around $50.00/month. But once you start building custom COM components, or go the Web Connection route (where you have a stand-alone EXE running in the background), you have to look at a collocation service or at least a semi-dedicated server solution. Either way, your mothly hosting costs will be in the $250.00/300.00 range.
