As I'm sure you know by now. While your SQL statement is executing nothing else in your app will work. Therefore, it must be outside the app. Why not create a small app that is just a form with the timer & the progressbar. Do a RUN command to call it before you do the query. Then when you want it gone. Use an API function to get rid of it.
