Hello Jill - how are you?

In reply to the link:

A basic problem of this “report” is the thought that this is a democracy in the pure sense. That is each individual has direct influence upon the actions of government. This is only true when we vote and after the votes are counted (or the court appoints the winner) the person who holds office is the one who will make decisions for all. We call that the republican form of democracy. It is a theory put into practice.

Those that advocate true democracy are in fact members of chaos which pure democracy is. If everyone has an equal voice government cannot function. We must depend upon those who hold office to make decisions that concern not only the lives of each individual but of the nation. When we are dissatisfied with the actions of an elected official, when it is time to vote we go to the voting poles and cast our vote according to our view points. That is our right as citizens of the United States.

Yes we do have people who are crazy and will kill others for any reason. Not all Americans are intolerant and you will only hear about the incidents concerning negative events. Our media is good at that.

Should we feel as one nation under attack or hide and allow terrorism to continue? Do not confuse patriotism with insanity.
