Scott,
We just encountered this error today. We run a VFP 6.0 executable from a network drive. Our 'install' consists of mapping a network drive to the application share and setting up a shortcut on the users desktop to the .exe. We've had not problems with this before and we use no ActiveX controls. On a new W2k machine, we got the error when double clicking on the shortcut. We fixed it by adding the user to the local admin group and re-creating the share. So it appears to be a permissions problem. Hope this helps.

>We have a user of one of our VFP6 (no SP) products that is reporting the error. The only reference I can find to it in MSKB is article Q195261 which suggests that the Regional Settings locale should be set to English (United States), but this isn't the problem with my customer's machine.

>Best I can tell, the problem seems to occur when we copy a compiled VFP6 EXE from a memo field in a table in our system to the disk and attempt to execute it. This is a technique we use for distributing customized add-ons to our system and has worked for several years with many customers without problems.

>The fact that we're getting an OLE error is baffling me because to my knowledge, we aren't accessing OLE and our program doesn't contain or access any COM DLLs.
