I just tried this. I don't know if this caused it or not but near the very end of the query I sometimes see the thermometer go from 88% to 100%. Not very helpful to me to see this at the end. Maybe VFP is better at this. I think that I'll just tell the user (usually me) that it may take a while.

>Try SET TALK WINDOW NOWINDOW followed by SET TALK ON. The nowindow will suppress the "Selected x records in x seconds". The thermometer only appears if VFP decides the query will take some time. I've not researched what VFP thinks the criteria are.
