The need to tab three times instead of hitting enter is something I noticed too, but since there's a work-around...

I liked the new look as well. It adds freshness to the place, however, for some weird reason, the text in the headlines section is not very readable over the light green (D7DBCE) background. Perhaps because the font is not really black but 303F30.

This same font color, however, appears to be very readable over the background colors of the User group tracker and Comments Area, so maybe you want to look into the color combination or use actual black for the font.

As far as the messages area, I suggest that you try several color schemes and allow people to decide which one's more readable.
