>I must be confused. I thought the use of App.Path would let the compiled program find its files, even if the user chooses to install in a directory other than the default specified. I am finding if the user installs anywhere except the default, it cant find the files.

Ra,

I believe Ed's point was that if the user chooses the root directory then App.Path will return C:\ with the backslash included. Then if you do App.Path & "\myfile.txt" this will contain a double backslash that could result in an error message or the program not finding the file.

If you can wrap App.Path in a function that checks for the backslash that would be the best way to obtain the location of the files regardless of where the user chooses to install your application.
