Slightly.
However, the main problem is the following: printers can print in "text-mode" and in "graphics mode". The old-fashioned Epson-dot-matrix printers (old-fashioned, yes, but still the cheapest per-page!) are very slow in graphics mode. And if you print from any Windows program, using the Windows Printing System, you will print in graphics mode.
Therefore, you should somehow bypass the Windows Printing System (or some aspects of it, especially: sending a character in a certain font, as a graphic), and print directly to the printer.
Because of the urgency of the question, I plan to publish something eventually. I'm very busy now, for the complete publication; but go ahead and ask any question.
