We have a total win2k shop with 5 win2k servers and 2 routers.
My users are peridically loosing their DNS sometimes as many as 6 times per day.
WE have two gateways a Cisco 2600 router which is a gateway to our corporate mainframe, and a cisco 1720 router which is our gateway to the internet.

I have tried using the 2600 as the default gateway and our local DNS server as the primary DNS but this fails to register my internet DNS Servers.

I have tried to use the 1720 as the default gateway and the internet DNS as the Primary DNS and this seems to work for a while.

The second case does seem to register the local and internet DNS but after a while we lose the internet DNS. At that point I can still ping any address but no sites i.e. "www.yahoo.com" I can use nslookup and see the dns server and resolve the name to an ip address.

If anyone has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
