I'd suggest you determine what the VB prgram is passing as sResult and then make VFP pass the same value.

>Thank you for your suggestion. I tried it but without success. I tried initializing the sResult to strings with different lengths. It still works in one computer and does not work in another. The VB program works in both computers. I don't know what FoxPro setting one computer has different from the other computer relating to calling a function.
