It's traditional around here. Everybody has great passion for date arithmetic. If you ask something about MAPI or SQL or API or XML and such, you usually get response from one or two people who are doing that stuff at the time, but if you ask how to do something with dates, you get twenty people, usually competing for the best one-liner. I'm seeing this for years, and it never fails :)
