I attended public school in Wisconsin from 1966-1972, in Colorado 1972-1975, Oregon in 1976, and Colorado again 1977-1978.
We said the pledge of allegiance at EVERY school I attended. All students stood up at their desks while it was said over the pa system (at every school). We did NOT, however, have any religious posters or banners of any kind at any school I attended anywhere. The closest we came was a 3 minute period of absolute 'silence' in Colorado (which I hear has since been banned). That time period was for praying silently if the student wished or just quiet time. I enjoyed that!
