If you're looking for a way to remotely monitor a Web server and be notified if it's down or otherwise unavailable, take a look at the West Wind Web Monitor (
http://www.west-wind.com/Webmonitor.asp). It goes beyond just pinging a site or checking for just any response, and allows you to search for a specific string in the response to be sure a valid page is being returned. It's a nice little program and works great, like all of Rick Strahl's stuff.
>Hi, is there any way to check if a given URL was correctly loaded?
>I´m developing an application that will extract some database information from the Internet. I estimate that this application will be running for about 6 months with no interruption. But I need to know (track) if my connection is broken or if the database server is down. So I need to know if the page that I want is exactly the page that was downloaded.
