Perforce (
www.perforce.com) works well enough for me.
However, it is only free for 1-2 users - enough for my current needs. If you need more, and want freeware, or cheap software, don't even look at it! It's price is similar to Visual SourceSafe (around US$ 600 per programmer).
Oh, and I am not actually sharing files with other programmers. I am only using Perforce for its version control! Which is also very useful, even for a single programmer.
