I received and installed VFP 7 on Monday, keeping VFP 6 (SP5) on my Windows 2000 machine. Generally I like VFP 7 with one possible exception.

I did some work on forms originally created in VFP 6 using VFP 7. No changes -- absolutely nothing -- specific to VFP 7 has been made, just testing and small changes. Really! Running the main .SCX and, from it, calling a modal .SCX still works fine in VFP 7 but, suddenly, running under VFP 6 causes a C0000005 error in the modal form.

Setting STEP ON in the modal form's LOAD event lets me steps through the INIT of the first six controls. On the seventh, a ComboBox, a C0000005 error occurs in its INIT event before, according to the debugger, any if its code is executed. T

hree of the previous controls were of the same ComboBox's base class and all are RowSourceType 2 - alias. The two VFP versions use different FoxUser.dbf files.

Question: Re general issues, are there any "gotchas" about developing for VFP 6 using VFP 7?

The forms run but now only under 7. They interchangeably between 6 & 7 earlier (yesterday?). I do understand that the first thing one might suspect is some VFP 7 specific command.

I'd really appreciate any ideas or thoughts. Thanks!
