At least two things are required to support this. First, you have to set up a user/group with access to SQL Server, so that you can perform step 2, which is to execute the SP_SetAppRole stored procedure.

Keep in mind that once you do this, the user/group will ONLY be able to access the database associated with the application role.



>Have any of you guys used application roles in SQL server 7. I have set up an application role, but how do I access it through Fox ODBC. Each time I set up the ODBC and enter the a roles name and password I get a login error. So I have can't set ODBC up to access SQL.
