>This is actually a Dos fp2.6 question. I have a table that cannot be opened "not a database table" error message. This table has reached 2gb in size.Is there a limitation in FoxPro 2.6 on 2GB? And if so is there a way to open this table without doing a full restore. I am in the middle of my companies billing week and this table is used by many different procedures and reports.

Joe,
Yes, there is a 2GB limit to a DBF. The "Not a database table" error is most likely because the header was updated even thought the records could not be added, which left a discrepancy between the record count in the header and the actual number of records. Look for a DBF Fix tool for Fox 2.x in UT download section. If you can keep the table from growing, you may be able to fix it with the tool and use it to finish your week's work. Then you can work on splitting it or otherwise reducing its size.
Good luck!
If you can keep the table
David.
