You can keep VFP 7 dlls in the system directory or copy into each app directory. There's no requirement anymore to keep them in the windows system directory. On my PC VFP 7 installed them by default into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP directory.

No, app compiled with VFP 6 wouldn't run with VFP 7 dlls.

As usually, it depends. Some people reported problems and bugs.

Anyway, before you deside to go forward with upgrade take a close look at 'Behavior Changes since the Previous Version' in the VFP 7 help and Readme file on the VFP installation CD.
