Hi, I am having a problem writing multiuser apps in VFP5.0.

I have a lookup table of that contains the next invoice number. This is in the form's data environment.

I have an invoice form. In the form I click the NEW button and it will retrieve the number from the lookup table the next invoice number, at the same time this next invoice number will be incremented and REPLACED with a new value.

It seems to work fine in the multiple instances on a local machine. I have tested this on a Novell network and it worked fine. Now, I am testing it on a NT Server4 machine it doesn't seem to work.

This is what happened. The data resides in the server's drive. The app is on local mahines. I clicked the NEW button in both machine A and machine B conseccutively about 15 secs apart. both will show the same invoice number retrieved. This is the problem as I do a save, the invoice number uniqness does not allow 2 identical invoice numbers.

But this doesn't hppen if I run 2 instances of the same form on a local machine.

I need help on this and I hope you can advise.
