>>>And I think I've just heard from one, probably because his head's so far up his arse there's no separation in the two activities & shit comes out his mouth when he speaks.
>>>
>>>If he gets up & hits you back, he probably hasn't violated his principles, he is taking direct action in self defense against the aggressor.
>>>
>>>If he runs off & rounds up a large number of friends & they come back armed & kill all of the witnesses in order to get you, that is indefensible military action & you realise the person you picked on didn't really believe his words about believing that peace is the only way.

>>
>>Now, now Len, you are getting personal again. It seems you like to do that as opposed to giving your interpretation of something that was stated. We must not become emotionally involved in this nonsense.
>>
>>Can you in fact prove that my “head's so far up his arse there's no separation in the two activities & shit comes out his mouth when he speaks”. Is that meant to be an accurate description of me or what you “think” of me? My, such belligerence! I do think your description of me is inaccurate, however you are entitled to your perception. By the way how did you notice these attributes about my speech?
>>
>>Why did you bother responding to a post that was not directed to you? Did it “hit home”? You did react in this case and these were only words. Imagine if someone did something to you – how you might react. This could be interesting!
>>
>>Could it be that you lack the ability to express yourself and this is the best you can do? Perhaps you are one of those guys that would punch someone else because of a difference in view point? Be careful as you are letting your emotions express yourself.

>Now if I misread what you meant, I will retract what I said & apologise, if you meant what you said, then as somebody who is opposed to the action, then yes I do take it personally & stand by what I said. You should expect to get such replies when you make such offensive statements.

Len;

I take it then that you do not consider your comments to me to be offensive and are justifiable according to your interruption. No forethought on your part was given about the person who made the post. It is easier to condom and be personal as this is the quickest means to label anyone and put them into the proper box.

Now I am capable of making pointed comments but refrain from doing so under most conditions. Also I prefer not to condemn an individual for a thought or suggestion. There is more to a person than a few words. There is also the expression “Actions speak louder than words”. I also do not use profanity when I converse with others regardless of what the subject is. Nor do I belittle others because I do not agree with his/her point of view.

I am not going to convert anyone’s way of thinking and do not intend to do so. It is a waste of time. Everyone has an opinion and some are able to express it in one way or another. In fact I have met people that are incapable of expressing themselves as to what they think or feel on any given subject.

By the way Len, I do not believe in killing anyone as a way of life. I do see a serious problem with the current situation and I think something has to be done about it. To me the course of action being pursued is the proper one if we are to be allowed to have some degree of freedom from terrorism.

Before committing ground forces into Afghanistan, military targets will be taken out. This is to reduce the number of causalities on both sides. It is a disgusting game and it is a game of life and death. Many things have to be sacrificed in order to protect yourself. You can put your head in the sand and pretend nothing is happening or because you feel nothing can be done to create a perceived positive change. The alternative is to do something to modify the present condition so a more acceptable condition will exist.

We shall see what we shall see.

By the way I celebrate this Friday day each year, as I was discharged from the United States Air Force in 1967. I am a Viet Nam Veteran. Not everyone in the military kills people. In fact I have accommodations from the United States Air Force for saving over 2000 civilian lives, and am proud of it!

Tom
