Not all the workstations have the problem, which is what driving us nuts. All the workstations are a 1GHz, though. None of the people running VFP6 have the problem, some shared servers. We didn't have problems running VFP6 in W98. W2K got installed and we didn't play with VFP at all, because VFP7 was coming. Then VFP7 arrived and some of us got new workstations, W2K and VFP7 at once. (me). Of five workstations running W2K and VFP7, three have problem severely, one has problem sporadically, one does not have problem. The sixth workstation is running W98 with VFP7 and no problems. The other group in the building is running VFP6 (complaining about not having VFP7 yet) on W2K with no problems.

Two of us are running brand new Dells, came with W2K. Three are running Dells <6 months old, installed W2K over W98. One is Compaq Prosignia about 2 years old runing W98. I belive it's me old 366MHz. All PC's have 3COM NIC, either built in or in slot. All six PC's go through same hub to another hub to server(s)

Which preinstall's are you talking about?
Our workstations have only one partion, unless you're referring to the server. I'll have to check that. The Sys Admin is out of town this morning. I just got in. I checked with the Sys Admin and his boss and they both insist that the server is up to snuff, all patches applied, all tests run. They have been following your suggestions very closely. I know, I watch them at my desk. I just happen to be in a slow period and am able to devote my time to this.

If there was a substitute for NPRINT and PCONSOLE via the MS client, we'd go that way. The other problem I don't know my way around is sending forms to a printer. We generate forms (third party) that print on 10-up form paper to make tray tags for the Post Office. I wouldn't begin to know how to send the raw printer functions for that, but in Novell, I just say f=065 and it works. Maybe there's yet another third party product that could intercept our text files and add the proper printer codes for what we need to do?
