Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the clarification regarding these 2 apps not being COM servers. I was afraid that would be the case.

Several people suggested an editbox on a form or a modify file. I guess I'm to blame for not providing more details. I'll try to be brief...

My VFP app has to run in the left half of the screen. The right half is used by an imaging application. My main form fills the VFP half of the screen. I didn't want a floating window obscuring it. Yet, the user will need to read the text and perform changes to the form based on it. Hence my desire to have a window external to the VFP app (e.g. Notepad, Wordpad).

I am now contemplating IE. I tried its .Navigate() and .Visible methods. Where can I get a list of the rest of its exposed methods ?
