John,

I agree with most of your opinions on how business are run. We aren't talking any rocket science here. But you seem to be "in the know" of things that you have no business knowing. My guess is that you allowed a personal theory to become fact, and now you are making statements based on that 'fact.' Or is this some tricky tactic that you learned in law school? (just teasing - everyone does it to some extent. I think it is part of human nature.)

> I don't think you are going to hear "Regardless of what the 7.0 sales are, there WILL be a VFP 8"

So what did I hear Ken (a voice of MS) just say to me?

My take is that there are already enough sales to justify vfp8. If that is so, then I would expect to hear: "Regardless of what _additional_ 7.0 sales are, there WILL be a VFP 8." Yea, there could be some "projected sales" somewhere, but who cares? Go with what Ken said and base your comments on that. Or at least make sure it is clear that your comments are based on ideas counter to what MS has stated. There is plenty of room for that: it is conceivable that a company like MS isn't disclosing their plan. I am actually surprised that Ken took such a strong stance. In fact, all he took a strong stance on was "It." I am assuming "it" refers to the theory that I "heard." I think I will just wait until I get a confirmation from Ken before I comment on this anymore. (BTW, I really would like an answer to "Right Ken?" - it was not rhetorical.)
