Strange, VFP6 help says the same limitation od 255 fields. Maybe its one of those undocumented issues/features you encountered. I never really encountered a situation where I needed to have a view with over 255 fields (nearest I got was only 227) and we always try to keep within the limits listed just in case.
Hope you find a solution.

>Yes but in VFP6 I could create a view on a SQL table that has 300 Fields. I would only be able to select 256 of them But at least I could create the remote view and use the table. Since I have upgraded to VFP7 I can't even use the SQL table with 300 fields. I have to use SPT and choose which fields I want to select where before I was using SPT and doing a "select *".
