Sorry Mark, let me explain myself a little better.

Ok Here's what I was thinking:

Have a program that would use say ip address or unc connections to audit a workstation or server on our network. It would gather hardware info, network settings, and maybe later what software is installed. After the audit is thru, copy it to a text file in a default location on one of our servers. In each users' login script, I map a maximum of 4 drive letters depending upon security access to the servers.

I have installed apps upon login before, so I am familiar with that route. I'm guessing that my solution will involve a small app running at login. The only thing is, I don't want the users to see it.

So, am I totally out of my mind on this one?

Thanks for any help on this one.
