I have postgresql 7.1.2 up and running. I'm able to connect to it using ODBC, pgAdminII from windows 2000. I can also now use psql to create database and tables. So I'm real sure postgres is working.

Using Kylix I created a form and placed the TZPgSQLDatabase control on it. I filled in the database name, the server address "192.168.1.201", and made login true and then changed the connected str to true. Immediately a login screen appeared and I think I was able to login to my sample database and table.

Now the questions:

All the books I'm reading refer to the dbExpress controls and I do not see how the zeos controls relate to dbExpress controls. If someone has a small prog to show me or can tell me how to use the zeos it would help a lot. I'm a complete newbie to kylix and have to read Delphi books to get my information. So how do the Zeos controls match up to the dbExpress controls?
