I used a very old version of Crystal Reports so this may not necessarily be helpful. But..........

I have a VFP 6 form with the Crystal Active X control on it.

There is a Destination property which can be set to FILE with a corresponding PrintFileName property. There is also a PrintFileType property for which a value of 17 (Uses the Microsoft Word for Windows format to save the data in the report).

As I said, my version is very old but I hope this gives you a start
