Doug,
I am experiencing a problem where updates to some tables inside a transaction are not making it to disk. I saw your comment about a known problem in VFP concerning the record count in the file header and your suggestion for a solution - pack the tables. Is this the only solution? Is there a way to trap for the situation? (When this thing occurs it really screws things up because the user typically will not know what has happened for several days when the customer come in to make a payment.) I am using SDT 5.1i ( will update to 6.0 soon) so should I have the user reindex the files once per day?

I am surprised that I have not heard of this problem sooner since it has a potentially devestating effect on the integrity of data.
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
