>I want to write a small application for a specific accounting purpose. The target market are as likely to be running win 3.1 as they are win 95 and therefore I need to write the app in Fox 2.6 - or do I, is there a way a 16bit os can run a 32bit app?

Yes You can run like that way, but for that you need to install win32 library. But the 16 bit application can run on 32 bit OS. By installing win32 library, the speed will decrease.
Alternatively, develop your application in Visual Foxpro only , but while making setup diskettes, make sure that you check-in the Win-32 library. For more information, check SETUP in Visual Foxpro-3.0 or 5.0 .
In Foxpro 2.6 , the setup wizard is not available.
Regarding, the first or second hand versions of Foxpro-2.6, I do not know much, sorry that I cannot help you in that matter.
