If you wanna do a good job, use VFP 3.0. It generates applications that can run on Win 3.x as well as Win95. Also: it gives you a lot more flexibility than 2.6, object oriented programming, less memory problems, much easier to find support for VFP, etc. Maybe the most important: You won't lose your invested work when you'll want to upgrade to VFP5 (you must rewrite the app when upgrade from 2.6 to VFP3 or 5).

2.6 for Windows is not a good choice when you have the alternative of VFP (2.6 doesn't offer a real Windows interface for your apps).
