I think assigning a meaningful alias at the moment you USE the table would be the best way. Otherwise, if you don't assign an alias, VFP would give the table an almost arbitrary alias.

Or, you could go through all open tables and search for one with a specific juststem(dbf()), but I think this will be too much trouble.
