First thing is the network.

1.> Are you using hubs or switches. Makes a big difference when you start moving alot of data over the network. If you don't know what the difference is, let me know and i'll explain it.

2.> Is your network running at 10BT, 100BT, or Fiber?

3.> on your client stations, are you opening a shared version of the entire database? Or using SQL to pull a smaller recordset?

4.> Server. What are the specs of the server? And how many applications are also running on this server?
